This Remembrance day had took a different meaning this year, after Canada suffered a loss of a soldier, Cpl. Nathan Cirillo, at the Ottawa War Memorial, where he was gunned down standing guard. Every year many people gather in front of Old City Hall to commemorate soldiers who died in the line of duty. It is always a very emotional event.

Sometimes, assignments happen on a rush. I was perusing a used book store, and I got a call to photograph an investor that purchased the famed Toronto music venue the El Macombo. The Rolling Stones, Tom Waits, U2, and Elvis Costello had all performed here before, and it was in danger of shutting down. Michael Wekerle, bought the club, and was holding a press conference at the venue. By the time I got there, he was just leaving, and he had about 2 minutes to make a portrait, and this happened. I didnt realize a banker could be so animated, especially while expecting a conservative business guy in a suit.
